One Year Anniversary Broadcast

One of the most exciting events in Texas History was the creation of the only national radio program series,
emanating from Texas, " SATURDAY AT THE SHAMROCK". This ABC Network Show, a music and variety format, was broadcast live each week from Glenn McCarthy's famous Shamrock Hotel in Houston, Texas.
From July 16, 1949 to June 6, 1953, Fred Nahas of Houston produced and hosted all one hundred and ninety coast-to-coast broadcast of "SATURDAY AT THE SHAMROCK".
